DAY#2 MISS THAT PLACE

The place that matters to me most is well… probably now school. I need to get out of my house!! But I also like school because my friends are there. In my house the only not annoying person is my cat. (My mom is too, but sometimes she can be a little bit cray cray about me finishing my work. so that happens)

I can see me now… walking into school and seeing my smiling friends and happy people everywhere.         Anyway I also like school for the playground and basketball court. Its always open for people to play and shoot some hoops because the gate is never closed and open always.      Another reason I like school is because I always have play practice. Well… not now we are stuck at home and doing work THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE AT SCHOOL!!!  I know I love school and I love the work but its called SCHOOL WORK for a reason. And my mom just came in and said “No its not schoolwork its just a lot of homework.” LIKE THAT’S HOW YOU MAKE IT A WHOLE LOT BETTER MOTHER!! I’m sorry I’m yelling a lot in this post but there is a lot of things going on in these times.  And I’m also sorry there is not a lot of paragraphs also.   See this is how long a paragraph is for me. Look for my name.

Madelyn sweet. SEE!! this paragraph is huge!! I just could not work with it so that’s why I don’t have paragraphs. I’m sorry.

SEE YA NEXT TIME!

PETER PAN PLAY

This year for the December performance that The Theater Project chose was Peter Pan.       I surprisingly did not know the story of Peter Pan. “Mom? Do you know the story of peter pan?” I asked my mom eager to get the answer.    “ No, I’m sorry Maddy. But… I haven’t heard the story in years more or less watched the movie.” she replied “Ok mommy.” I said as I turned away from my mom.   I need to figure out the story of peter pan somehow.  I thought as I walked empty minded.

I entered The Theater Project with a smile on my face, This is the place I feel the most welcome and safe and happy! 🙂  As I sat down in the seats waiting for instructions, I watched my other theater friends fool around on their fancy new phones with their fancy new water-bottles.

“Modern days. Just the modern days.” I said to myself as I got up to move to the way more CALMER group.

“Welcome maddy to the calm cyrcle and also known as the safer circle.”  said Anya as she (like magic) pointed to the outside of the circle as two kids sprinted across the room.  “No running!” she said and the two kids kept running around the lobby and around the theater.

“They never listen don’t they?” I said.

Then the director entered the room, “Please everyone calm down and then come onto the stage for our warm ups.” She said and we followed the directions as told.

The first rehearsal was just for us to get to know each other.  We did a lot of greetings and fun acting games. And then when we had our second rehearsal we got down to business.  I found out that we were all lost boys. We got swords and costumes and we even made up our own names!

When the show was coming up and the play started to come together. We realized that when we all work together and work hard enough we can actually make the theater just like neverland! (well… I just explained acting so…)

When the night of the play started we all got dressed and all ‘lost boy-ed’ up and was ready to fly! (get it? fly!) Anyway, when the show began I waited backstage,  I didn’t go on stage until a couple scenes were past.

After the show there was only 4 more left to go.  I always feel a tad sad when a show is over. But this time I am very sad.

But when all the shows were over and past.  I felt Better over a while and had more magic in me than ever before!!

Breaking News! The Mystery of Lost Reading Logs

A problem happened in the 4/5 wing….. The reading logs went missing!                 “The rumor is that someone had a jealousy attack and scattered all the reading logs to stop the 5th graders from winning a 20 days of reading challenge” I said being like a detective.

“Maddy, the only thing that is crazy is that idea.” said my friend, Cadence, Nodding her head up and down.

“Did someone go AWOL? Or is this a reasonable mistake!?” I said trying to annoy her.

“That’s not funny or annoying.” she said back

“Way to ruin the fun!” I joked.

Later on Mrs. Kristen, A staff in 4/5, announced that she is going dumpster diving to see if the logs have been thrown away.   “I will see if the logs have been thrown away.” she said “let’s see if I make it back alive.” Mrs. Kristen said sarcastically and went off.

Little did know, the logs were in the dumpster, covered in mud, twigs and were ripped even and covered in things you don’t want to know.     “Oh Mrs. Kristen let me help you with the logs.” said Mrs. Marc-Aurele (my teacher) as she snapped a quick picture, and helped her with the logs and set them on her desk.

So Mrs. Kristen looked for our janitor, Mrs. Mitchel, to have a word with her.  “Well… At first the logs were in the rightful place. And then they were scattered!” said Mrs. Michel “And I am continuously throwing away things, But if they have names on them I give them to the rightful person, but if it doesn’t have a name…… I chuck it!”   “Well… we DO have our names on them!” WE all exclaimed

“But the case of ‘who did it is still in order.” I said to Cadence.

“STOP!” she hissed back.    ”

OK! OK! YEESH! Just having a little fun won’t hurt ya!” I whispered back poking her in the side with my elbow.

“Wow! you are just like your brother! Thinking everything is a game!” she exclaimed back

“I’m more like peter pan,” I said.

At the end of literacy was a crazy rush trying to focus. So Mrs. Marc -Aurele sent us away to write a story about this and guess what… This is it! The story she sent us to our desks to write!   (great am I right? or am I right!?)  So now everyone knows these things can happen any day now.  So be prepared!

  LOST FAME!

One afternoon in the cold, cold fall (almost winter.) I was outside on my bike with a big snack bag for my mouth to munch on and devour.  (Cheese, cookies, and my favorite a delicious ham sandwich.) As I swished around, my charm bracelet jingled around with a quiet, high pitched song.  Then I stopped and looked at the sky.  The patterns just swirled together with beauty.  Snap! Went my camera as I took a picture to catch the moment.  My favorite thing to do is ride my bike in a falling sky. Suddenly I saw a flash and then a russell was behind me.  But I was not just going to sit and not be brave. I TOOK MY STAND! “Who is there?” I said with pride, as eyes shined in the heart of the forest, were the creatures of the deep, dark, forest was standing.

“SHOW  yourself!”     Then I heard a whine and the creature came out. A dog.  A small dog.  A puppy. The dog had pointy ears and white with brown splotches as a fur color.   It didn’t have a collar on and it wasn’t a puppy on my road… at least I didn’t recognize it.  I reached out to pet it. “Come here, come here!” I said softly. The puppy seemed confused then trotted over “you are so cute! I’m going to call you… Fame!”   Suddenly I saw a movement in the woods. I saw another and another! Then a dog, just like this one I was holding, came out with a duck line of three more dogs came behind the leader.  followed by two dogs, bigger than the puppy’s, (Mom and Dad probably) and they were the ones that had collars on. ‘Let’s go get you home!’ I thought as I stretched out my hand out to the parents to read the collars, and the parents were not satisfied.  They barked and howled and yaped, like most dogs do to strangers, but lucky me I had a trick up my sleeve. “Sshh sshh doggy, good doggy, I won’t hurt you doggy.”  I whispered in a high soft voice. Some dogs like the high pitch whisper.  Especially when you say good doggy, good doggy.  As soon as I said that the parents eyes softened and they came forward.  As the parents nuzzled their heads into my hands, I checked their collars.  They were addresses in canada, the two parents had puppies, and one of the puppies (Fame) has run away and came across the U. S. A. border, and the parents came looking for her! Everything was starting to make sense!         (Yhea…Fame’s a girl.)

When me and the puppies were done playing, the parents came over to say goodbye to me and so did the puppies, all of them said   their last goodbyes. “Good puppies, good puppies, yes you are! Yes you are!”  I said as the puppies licked my face off. Then the parents barked and the puppies all came off me one by one and the last one licking me was Fame (obviously). And then the parents did a weird, but awesome thing! They shook my hand… and I shook their paw.  (So awesome am I right,or am I right!) anywho and then they also they bowed to me! ‘I never knew they could do that! It was amazing! I was their admirerer! OMG!! Its sooo cool! I’m like their king now!’ I thought soo much was going on now in my head I mean.  So at that moment I took a deep breath and said to myself, “ keep it together Madelyn” and then I got on my knees and I pet the bowing, respectful, dogs. “You be good dogs,” I said as the dogs went back to standing. “Now go back home and stay there where you are safe with your owners.”  The parents looked at me with sad sad eyes saying ‘please don’t make us go.’ But they knew it was not their choice to stay or go. “ But before you go,I can give you this.” I ran back to my bike and grabbed my snack bag and opened it up to my snack laying there waiting to be eaten.  I grabbed the sandwich and fed it to the puppies and the parents and then the cheese, I fed to the cheese to the dogs too. Then very slowly I took off my charm bracelet and put each charm on the parents collar “keep these safe,” I said as I pet the mother “you are going to have a great life.” I said to all of the puppies Fame (that one startled me in the first place.)    After I said goodbye to each endevishuel puppie, I watched the mom and dad bark and call the puppies to go back home. As the puppies scattered to the parents.  Fame stayed at my side. “Fame, honey, You need to go! Go with your parents. Go with your parents,” I said as I scratched behind her ear. But fame just stood there. “I’m going to miss you Fame, I really am.”  And then I pet Fame for the last time. And then she was off, off to canada. Her home, where she is safe warm and with family of her own. “Bye bye! Alvetersane! Goodbye! Bon voyage!” I shouted as the the family of dogs. And then they were out of sight.  Then I heard barks and yaps of good bye. As the barking faded, I went inside to my family were i’m safe and warm with a family of my own. “Good night, Fame,” I said sleepy as I snuggled in bed “good night.” then I was asleep. And all the way in canada, There was Fame, snuggled in her own little bed by the warm fireplace when the first winter snow fell from the sky, we were both safe and warm in the place we belong.

                                                         THE END!
